Willie Miles Harper was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 30, 1950. He is a retired professional football player who was drafted in 1973. Before he started out in professional football, he played in University of Nebraska as a linebacker. As a college football athlete, he was considered as a first-rate part of his team and so was given recognition and included to all-star teams like the 1972 All-American selection. After his noteworthy performance in college, he joined the 1973 NFL Draft where he was successfully chosen by the San Francisco 49ers. He was a 41st pick overall in round two of the said draft. He spent eleven years with the 49ers. In 1983, he chose to join the United States Football League where he played for the New Jersey Generals. He was regarded as one fine linebacker during his time based on reviews. His last team was the Houston Gamblers with which he played his final season as a professional football player in 1985. He played 134 games in his entire career and he started 101 of these games. He had 3.0 sacks and had 3 interceptions based on statistics.
