He started playing in the major league after being drafted by the Minnesota Twins. He played his very first Major League Baseball game on August 22, 1977 for the Twins. Before he made his Major League Baseball debut, he played high school baseball at Pine Buff High School. In 1999, he started playing regularly in the major league and became a popular player by 2000.
