Paul Wilson is a former American pro baseball athlete who pitched for the New York Mets, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Cincinnati Reds of the Major League Baseball. He was born in Orlando, Florida and graduated from William R. Boone High School. He then took his college studies and played college baseball as well attending the Florida State University . Wilson began his career in pro baseball after he was drafted by the New York Mets in the first round of the 1994 amateur draft and made his pro debut on April 4, 1996. Wilson played for five seasons with the Mets until July 2000 when he was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays along with teammate Jason Tyner in exchange for Bubba Trammell and Rick White. Wilson was released by the Devil Rays on 2002 and signed with the Cincinnati Reds the following year and spent the rest of his remaining seasons with the Reds until his final game on May 16, 2005.
