Mike Vrabel is an American professional football player who is currently playing as linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. Before joining the Chiefs, Vrabel played as outside linebacker and tight end for two other teams; the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots. He was born in Akron, OH. Vrabel took his college education when he attended Ohio State University where he also played college football. Vrabel played as defensive end during his college career at the Ohio State. He started his professional football career after he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 1997 NFL Draft where he was the third round and ninety first overall pick of the team. His most notable play with the Steelers came during his rookie season, after he sacked Drew Bledsoe in the 1997-98 American Football Conference Divisional Playoffs to clinch a 7-6 win for the Steelers. In 2000, Vrabel left the Steelers and joined the New England Patriots a year after. Vrabel has exemplified the flexibility sought by Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick .
