Born on January 1, 1955 in Columbia, South Carolina, Dewey LaMarr Hoyt is a retired professional baseball pitcher who appeared in the Major League Baseball. He was signed by the New York Yankees in 1973 after being drafted in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft. However, he did not have his MLB debut with his drafting team and was traded to the Chicago White Sox in 1977. He played his debut game in the Major League Baseball on September 14, 1979 for the White Sox as a relief pitcher.
