Keith Michael Ginter is a Major League Baseball player from California. Born on May 5, 1976, he graduated high school in Fullerton High School and played college baseball at Cypress College and Texas Tech University. He became a two-time All-American player and was played a key role for the Red Raiders to reach the NCAA Regional Finals. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in round 10 of the amateur draft in 1998. He started playing professionally for Auburn Doubledays of the New York Penn League. His first Major Baseball League appearance was on September 20, 2000 for the team Houston Astros. He was then traded to Milwaukee Brewers together with Wayne Franklin and Mark Loretta. He stayed with the team until December 2004 and was again traded to another team, the Oakland Athletics. In 2004, he was awarded as National League Player of the Week. The following year, he played for both Oakland Athletics and triple-A Sacramento River Cats. He spent the year 2006 with the triple-A. Ginter was signed by the Cleveland Indians on January 2, 2007 for a minor league contract but he spent the 2007 season with Buffalo Bisons. He also signed with Boston Red Sox for a minor league contract on December 13, 2007 and became part of the team's spring training.
