Born on August 27, 1989 in Anaheim, California, Vitters is a highly coveted player currently playing for the Cubs' class AA affiliate, the Tennessee Smokies. He was drafted by the Cubs third overall in the 2007 amateur draft. He formally signed with the Cubs on August 15, 2007. Vitters is known for his stellar batting ability and excellent hand- eye coordination. He is also famous for his fast wrists and fluid swing, which many baseball pros admit are some of the most difficult things to teach a young hitter. Though at times he tends to chase bad pitches, Vitters still amazes everyone with how he handles any type of pitch like a pro.
