John Wensink is a retired Canadian NFL player and is currently playing hockey at the Summit Center in Chesterfield, Missouri in Sunday night men's league. He was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada and grew up in Maxville, Ontario. Throughout his professional hockey career, Wensink played as left wing for several teams in the National Hockey League; the St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Rockies and the New Jersey Devils . Wensink stands 6 ft. and weighs 200 lbs. and shoots left handed. He began his professional ice hockey career after he was drafted by the St. Louis Blues during the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft where he was the seventh round and a hundred and fourth overall pick of the team. Wensink played for two seasons with the Blues before joining the Boston Bruins in 1976 and was best remembered for his time with the team when he teamed up with Stan Jonathan and Terry O'Reilly as the team enforcers. Wensink also had a career high of forty six points during the 1978 seasons with the Bruins. Apart from his NHL career, Wensink also played in the Dutch Eredivisie for the Nijmegen Tigers in 1984 to 1985. And in 1989, Wensink played in the 1989 World Ice Hockey Championships for the Netherlands national ice hockey team.
