John Raymond Hudek, a retired professional baseball player, was born on August 8, 1966 in Tampa, Florida. He was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 10th round of the 1988 Major League Baseball amateur draft. Hudek batted with either his right or left hand and threw with his right. His Major League Baseball debut was on April 23, 1994 for the Houston Astros. He was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in 1985 but opted not to sign with the team. His next draft was with the Chicago White Sox with which he signed a deal but was transferred to the Detroit Tigers via the Rule 5 Draft. Although he did not appeared yet in any game for the Tigers, he was again traded to the Houston Astros, with which he made his major league debut. He played for the Astros from 1994 to 1997 and then was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 1998 and stayed with the team until 1999. He played 194 Major League Baseball games for a total of five teams which includes the New York Mets, the Atlanta Braves and the Toronto Blue Jays. According to sources, his best season was in 1994 when he played for the All-Star team. His final MLB game was on September 30, 1999 for the Toronto Blue Jays.
