George Washington Rogers is originally from Duluth, Georgia, and a former National Football League American football player. He played as running back during his college and professional career, and was the recipient of Heisman Trophy in 1980, following other names as Tony Dorsett , Earl Campbell, and Billy Sims. Because of his successful college football performance, Rogers was picked as the first choice in the first round of the 1981 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Rogers was the first Heisman Trophy recipient of four to be picked to play for the Saints in years to come.
