Retired professional ice hockey goaltender, Garth Snow is currently the general manager of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He was born in Wrentham, Massachusetts on July 28, 1969. He was first drafted by the Quebec Nordiques during the sixth round of the National Hockey League Entry in the year 1987. Snow opted to study at the University of Maine for four years and had ked the NCAA in wins for three amazing years. He amazingly recorded 32 wins all in 62 games for the Cornwall Aces in 1994-1995 American Hockey League. Snow was then traded to the Philadelphia Flyers and he had backed up Ron Hextall for over two seasons. In 1997-1998 trade deadline, Snow was traded to the Vancouver Canucks for Sean Burke. He had his best season in 1998-1999 where he had played in65 games with 20 wins and 6 shutouts. He was also considered as a leader both on and off the ice. He became the General Manager of the New York Islanders on July 18, 2006 after he retired from his playing career. Snow was the Hockey East second All-Star team in 1992and 1993. He was also the one of the players who had played in the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team in 1993 and also in the NCAA Championship University of Maine in the same year.
