Brandon Wood Jerseys

Brandon Wood is an American pro baseball athlete who is currently lined ups as third baseman and shortstop for the Anaheim Angels. He was born in Austin, Texas and graduated from Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Wood's pro baseball career began after he was drafted in the first round of the 2003 amateur draft by the Anaheim Angels. Before making his name in the major leagues after the draft, Wood spent some years in the minors where he spent most of the 2005 season with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, an Angels' High-A minor affiliate, and became the first known minor league athlete to hit more than a hundred extra-base hits in a single year. Before the beginning of the 2006 season, Wood was ranked as third best prospect by Baseball America, following Delmon Young of the Minnesota Twins and Justin Upton of the Arizona Diamondbacks. After his stint in the minors, Wood was called up to Angels' major league club and made his pro debut on April 26, 2007 in their game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. After the a few games in the majors, Wood was sent back to the minors for the Triple-A Salt Lake and was recalled to the Angels on May 2007.
