Billy Pierce Jerseys

William Pierce is a retired professional baseball player who was born in Detroit, Michigan. He was a well-known pitcher during his time, playing for three Major League Baseball teams. He spent the first few years of his professional career with the Detroit Tigers which drafted him to play in the league. He stayed as a Tigers player until the 1948 season. However, his most remarkable period in the Major League Baseball, according to sources, was with the Chicago White Sox where he served as a pitcher and has made impressive records with the team. He worked with the White Sox from 1949 to the 1961 season but only became the team's pitcher for the 1952 to 1961 seasons. He became the American League's best pitcher for the 1956 and 1957 season. He was named to the All-Star team for seven times and recorded the highest number of complete games for three seasons. Although he was known to have a medium built stature, it did not hiner him from performing his best in the major league. He also joined the San Francisco Giants beginning the 1962 season as a significant part of the team's national league pennant. He was able to record a three-hit shutout for the team's participation in the playoffs. He finished his Major League Baseball career with 1, 999 career and his 211 career wins in the American League was the tenth highest among left-batter players. He was awarded as the TSN Pitcher of the Year for two seasons. Make your Major League Baseball collection improved with Billy Pierce memorabilia you can find at this site.
